In the above video clip, Susan Boyle shows that she is a force to be reckoned with when she kicks young pretender Hollie Steel out of the picture.

Luckily for young Hollie, Susan Boyle’s kick is just a creation from the special effects department of US chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live, and was shown on TV in America last night.

Hollie is generally seen as the contestant most likely to rival Susan Boyle for the Britain’s Got Talent crown.

However, as Jimmy Kimmel says, “There is only one Susan Boyle”.

Singing “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from Jesus Christ Superstar

Susan Boyle was rejected at her audition for Michael Barrymore’s “My Kind of People”, 15 years ago back in 1994. Mr Barrymore did not spot Susan’s potential and he acted inappropriately whilst she was singing “I Don’t Know How to Love Him”, by doing childish things such as trying to look up her skirt. He probably thought that he was being funny.

The video was made by Julie Febers whose mother Elizabeth MacLean was also auditioning. It shows Michael Barrymore acting the fool throughout Susan’s performance. Nevertheless, Susan continued her singing, unfazed by Barrymore’s inappropriateness.

Barrymore kissed Susan at the end of her performance. (Yuk!)

Whilst Susan was unsuccessful in her audition, Elizabeth Maclean did get through, singing a rendition of “The Power of Love”. Elizabeth remembered: “Susan was a few people in front of me.

“When she began to sing I knew she had a great voice, but Barrymore was intent on taking the mickey out of her.”

It seems to me that Barrymore is the only one who looks foolish in this video!

At her parent’s golden wedding anniversary celebration in 1986

An early video has been unearthed by the Daily Mirror showing Susan Boyle singing when she was just 25 years old.

The footage was taken during the celebrations of her parent’s golden anniversary wedding celebrations 23 years ago in 1986. It shows Susan singing “I Don’t Know How To Love Him” acapella. Her sweet voice fills the room as her audience listens in awe. She was singing at the Welcome Pub, in Blackburn, her home town in West Lothian.

Her brother Gerard said: ?It was a very emotional night. It goes quiet when Susan sings, it always does. She always has that effect.

?The week before she went on Britain?s Got Talent she sang Ave Maria at my mother-in-law?s funeral and stunned the church.?

Astonishing that it is only now, 23 years later, that this hidden talent has been uncovered.

Susan Boyle appeared on the NBC’s Today show on Friday 17th April, but declined to answer the question: Have you got a boyfriend yet?
Last weekend when Susan appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, she said that she was 47 and had “never been married, never been kissed”

As of yesterday, more than 25 million people had viewed Susan Boyle’s performance on YouTube, so Today presenter Meredith Vieira asked Boyle if there had been any male suitors (not counting Piers Morgan) beating a path to her door.

Boyle laughed a girly laugh, and chortled, “No comment.”

Matt Lauer admitted that he’s watched her video “12 or 14 times”, though Boyle, sitting at home and talking in America via a satellite link, said the reaction from everywhere in the world “hasn’t sunk in yet.”

Simon Cowell has however commented (on GMTV) that Boyle winning “Britain’s Got Talent” is by no means a “done deal”. Cowell added “There are some acts that you haven’t seen yet, it’s not quite the one-horse race you are going to think this is.”
