Susan Boyle live in Dublin on June 30th
Susan Boyle gave another stunning performance at the O2 Arena in Dublin on June 30th and received a standing ovation from the rapt audience. She dedicated her performance to her late mother Bridget, according to an article on IrishCentral.
Both Susan’s parents came from County Donegal, in Ireland, before later emigrating to Scotland. One of the reasons Susan entered the “Britain’s Got Talent” competition was because her mother, Bridget, had wanted her to.
Bridget, before her death, had urged Susan to take a risk on her talent and to sing for audiences bigger than the local church. Prior to the competition, Susan’s experience of performing came from singing in church and karaoke.
Her priest, Father Basil Clark, commented on Susan’s singing when she joined an annual pilgrimage to the Knock Shine in County Mayo.
“When I watched the judges’ faces (on Britain’s Got Talent) it reminded me of what I was like when I first saw Susan singing in Knock — absolutely blown away by the quality of the singing and by that fantastic voice,” he told IrishCentral.
Susan entered Britain’s Got Talent and not The X-Factor, because she felt that for the latter competition, contestants were chosen for their looks.
Her mother’s death in 2007 convinced her that it really was time she entered. It is truly sad that Bridget never got to see Susan Boyle’s success; but perhaps she is watching, with a smile on her face, from a better place than here.
Susan Boyle dedicated her performance in Dublin to Bridget.
“This one’s for you,” she whispered.

Susan Boyle likely to take further rest days on tour
Susan Boyle is likely to be taking further rest days as the Britain’s Got Talent tour progresses. She recently performed in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and was well received by the audience receiving three standing ovations in Edinburgh, but had to miss the Manchester date in order to rest.
Publicist Nicola Philips told The Scotsman that Edinburgh’s performance went “really well” but that the singer would need “sporadic” rest days.
“We’ve not toured with her before, so we don’t know how many performances she can cope with,” she said. “We are waiting for her to talk to us, to tell us when she needs a rest.”
Susan is due to perform in Liverpool tonight.
