Susan Boyle Performs her new Single “Perfect Day”
Susan Boyle’s second album, “The Gift”, will be released on November 9th on the SYCO/Columbia Records label. It will contain ten tracks including covers and Christmas songs.
The first single from the album is a cover of “Perfect Day”, a song originally written and performed by Lou Reed in 1972. Lou Reed would not allow Susan Boyle to perform this song on “America’s Got Talent” earlier this month.
Other tracks that will appear on “The Gift” include “The First Noel”, “O Holy Night”, “Away in a Manger”, “Hallelujah” and “Don’t Dream It’s Over”. The duet to be performed with Amber Stassi, the winner of the Susan’s Search online talent competition on YouTube, is “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
Susan said in a press release: “I wanted there to be a mix of songs that would flow with all our moods this holiday season. As much as the season is a time for reflection, it is also a time for fun and enjoyment with those closest to us.”

Susan also did one of her trademark little dances as she sang her lines in the song.
Susan added: ?It is just awful what is happening in Haiti. I?ve seen some of it on the TV and it?s so sad.
?To be asked to do this with all these talented singers is just great, it?s such an honour. It would be lovely to meet Rod Stewart, being a fellow Scot.?
Other stars who are adding their voices to the Haiti single include? Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke,? Kylie Minogue, Cheryl Cole,? Mika, Michael Bubl?, JLS, Westlife and Robbie Williams.
Susan Boyle to perform on Charity Single to aid Haiti
Simon Cowell is organising a charity single to raise funds for the Haiti earthquake appeal. Sponsored by The Sun newspaper, the song chosen for the recording is REM’s Everybody Hurts,? because of the strong emotion the song conveys, and the track is due to be laid down next week.
Artists who have already agreed to contribute to the single included Susan Boyle, Take That, Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Cheryl Cole, Rod Stewart, Mika, Michael Bubl?, JLS and Westlife.
Susan told The Sun: “The Haiti earthquake has caused devastation and suffering that most of us will never experience nor could imagine.
“I feel privileged to be a part of such a wonderful project that will raise money to help the country.”
All the acts taking part have agreed to give all the proceeds raided to the Haiti appeal. Gordon Brown has also agreed that the single will be VAT free.
Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream is the Most Pre-ordered Album of All Time
It has been widely reported that Susan Boyle’s debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, is the most pre-ordered album of all time, despite the fact that Amazon.com restricted the number of copies that you could pre-order to just three.
A spokesman for Amazon.co.uk told The Telegraph: “Just eight months ago, no one was aware of the talents of Susan Boyle. Now, she has generated more Amazon pre-order CD sales globally than any other artist.”
However, I would like to draw your attention to another young artist, Hollie Steel, who’s debut single “Where are you Christmas?” has just become available for pre-order, the release date being December 7th.
Hollie Steel was in the final on Britain’s Got Talent alongside Susan Boyle, and charmed the nation with her amazing voice. Compared to a young Julie Andrews / Audrey Hepburn, Hollie is a well grounded young lady from a lovely, supportive family whom I have met.? If you would like to hear a preview of some tracks from Hollie’s forthcoming album, you can do so on her Official MySpace Page.
Hollie’s family have paid themselves to put the album together, and Hollie needs 6,000 pre-orders in order for the single to be stocked in the HMV stores here in the UK on release.
Support this lovely girl and? pre-order Hollie’s single (it costs ?1.99, delivery is free in the UK. Shipping to Europe is ?2.50 and the Rest Of The World ?4.50.)
Here is a recent video of Hollie performing in Hong Kong:
Susan Boyle Mania Hits Los Angeles
Susan Boyle got the celebrity welcome that she deserves when she arrived at LAX airport, Los Angeles today. Susan has travelled to LA so that she can perform on the America’s Got Talent show, which will be airing on September 14th and 16th. Susan’s performance will be on Wednesday 16th September.
According to the Daily Mirror, Susan will be singing “Wild Horses” on the show, the cover of the Rolling Stones song which will be her debut single.
Susan had to be helped through the crowds of media and fans by two bodyguards. However, Susan seemed to be enjoying the attention as she smiled, waved and blew kisses to the crowd on her way to the car.
A chant of ‘”Susan! Susan!” could be heard as Susan made her way from the terminal to the car, according to the Daily Telegraph, together with shouts of “We love you Susan”.
A source said that when confronted by the huge crowds, Susan said: “Oh my word. Is this for me?”
This trip to the US is the first time that Susan has ever left Europe. The welcoming crowds were so huge that Susan joked: “It?s like the Beatles”.
Apparently, one fan even got close enough to give Susan a hug! (Better up the security next time, guys…). However, Susan was not upset by the incident. An onlooker said: “It was really sweet. Susan always has time for her fans and she told her it was a pleasure to meet her.”
Susan Boyle’s new single, Wild Horses,? is available here and now for you to listen to (see below)!
