Susan Boyle to Appear on Oprah Next Week

Susan Boyle and Oprah WinfreySusan Boyle will be going back to the US next week to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show, according to an article in the Daily Mail.

She will be flying to Chicago next Tuesday and the episode will be recorded on Wednesday 13th January.

A source from the Oprah show told the Daily Mail: “Oprah bosses have been really keen to get Susan on. America has gone Susan Boyle crazy and as US TV’s biggest show, it makes sense for her to appear.

“It just goes to show what a huge star Susan Boyle has now become in America.

“Susan is really looking forward to appearing as well. She can’t wait.”

Susan last appeared on Oprah via a satellite link last May, before the Britain’s Got Talent final. But Wednesday’s appearance will be the first time that Susan will actually been present in the Oprah studios.

Susan will perform a song and be interviewed on the show, although at the time of writing it is not known which song Susan will sing.

Oprah is the most popular talk show in the US, with shows getting on average 18.5 million viewers and repeats getting in excess of 14 million viewers.

Susan Boyle’s Oprah Winfrey interview “subtitled” for US viewers

Parts of Susan Boyle’s Oprah Winfrey interview were subtitled by the show’s producers. They felt that the American audience might have difficulty in understanding Susan’s Scottish accent.

The prerecorded segments at her home in West Lothian were subtitled. However, the live interview via satellite with Oprah Winfrey and Simon Cowell was not subtitled, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

Susan Boyle’s Interview with Oprah Winfrey on special “The World’s Got Talent” programme

susan-boyle-simon-cowell-oprah-winfreySusan Boyle was today interviewed by Oprah Winfrey for the special “The World’s Got Talent” which is likely to be viewed by more than 20 million people in America alone when it is aired next Monday. Simon Cowell was also a guest on the show.

Susan discussed how being on “Britain’s Got Talent” has changed her life.

(It’s) “Pretty Awesome, like a dream come true, I’m loving ever second,” was how she described her new found fame, although she did add: “It all takes a bit of time to take in, things have happened so quickly.

“I get recognized in the street, I get asked for autographs. … I’ve been getting quite a few letters and quite a few cards from all over the globe.”

The picture above shows the film crew earlier this week being shown around Susan’s home in West Lothian. However, Susan appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show via a satellite link, as Simon Cowell thought it would give Ms Boyle an unfair advantage over the other contestants if she were interviewed in the studio and given the opportunity to sing.

Susan was dimissive of the obsession about her so-called makeover. “I did a bit,” she said, “But that was just to tidy myself up like any other female would have done.” .

All Simon Cowell had to say on the subject was: “It’s all about you and your singing voice now – whatever you feel comfortable with, you do.”

Susan also talked about her childhood on the show. She was the youngest of nine children, but very close to her mother. At school, she was slow to learn and had gained confidence by singing when she started, age 12.

Oprah asked Susan if she was lonely. According to the Daily Star, Susan replied that she was not.”Oh no. I am not lonely. Everyone has been so nice. I’ve got millions of new friends now,” she declared.

Simon Cowell asked Susan if she wanted to win Britain’s Got Talent (dumb question!) Susan’s reply was diplomatic. “I have every chance, but at the same time, there [is] a lot of other talent in the competition, so I’m willing to take my place with them.”

Susan Boyle will be appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show in the US on Monday 11th May, and the interview is likely to be viewed by more than 20million people in the US.

However, it is believed that the bosses at Britain’s Got Talent have forbidden her from singing live on the show, as they feel it would give her an unfair advantage over the other contestants.

Susan is planning to show Oprah and her 20 odd million viewers around her modest council house in West Lothian that she shares with her cat, Pebbles.

According to Hello Magazine, the camera crew arrived on Tuesday morning, but stopped filming briefly in the afternoon to allow Ms Boyle to have a “nap”. They later mocked up a scene where Susan ushers them away from the paparazzi installed outside her door, and invites them in for tea and cake.

Susan Boyle will be appearing on a special Oprah Winfrey show that is featuring guests selected from the 40 different countries where Britain’s Got Talent is filmed. Simon Cowell will also be appearing on the show. The show is titled The World’s Got Talent. Show producers have released a statement saying: “‘Internet sensation and Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle welcomes our cameras for a view inside her Scotland home, and makes her ‘Oprah’ show debut”‘.
