Susan Boyle celebrated her 50th birthday yesterday with a party at a secret location, a country-house hotel near her home, that was organised by her niece. Rumour has it that the party was a karaoke, but as I wasn’t there, I can’t be sure.

Simon Cowell sent Susan a birthday message, which read: “Happy 50th birthday, Susan. You are an amazing lady and I hope you have an fantastic day.”? She also received happy birthday wishes from Piers Morgan.

Susan told the Daily Record how she felt about reaching the age 50 milestone: “I’m looking forward to turning 50. There’s not much I can do about it, but I’m happy to be reaching this birthday.

“I’ve had loads of nice people at my door and lots of nice presents, which I thank you all for.

“I’ve had lots of nice spa things – pampering things, you know, to make myself beautiful. It’s been a good 40s but I’m looking forward to a fantastic 50s.”

I hear that Simon Cowell bought Susan Boyle a ?20,000 Cartier ?necklace for her birthday.

Lonnirose said: “Susan’s fans were well represented by the 16 who were fortunate enough to be there with her. She enchanted them all with her warm personality – laughed and talked with them, even sat on the floor with them. Susan is magnificent in every way, and? her performance in Japan was glorious.”

Today is Susan Boyle’s 49th birthday, and she is currently in Japan preparing to perform with the Yomiuri Nippon Orchestra in front of 10,000 people at the famous Budokan arena, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

Susan was apparently left speechless when fans brought out a cake covered in candles and started to sing “Happy Birthday” to her. When she opened one package, she found a? ?6,000 diamond and gold bracelet from no other than Simon Cowell. Susan apparently gasped: “Oh my god.”

A friend told The Mirror: “She couldn’t believe her eyes and burst into tears.

“She had seen the bracelet in a magazine and said ‘Gosh, imagine owning something like that.’ So Simon tracked it down at Harrods.”

You see, Simon can be Mr Nice sometimes.

Susan Boyle is going to be invited to sing at the White House to celebrate First Lady Michelle Obama’s birthday, according to recent media reports.

Susan is reportedly a firm favourite with the Obamas and she will be asked to sing “I Dreamed a Dream” at Michelle’s 46th birthday party on January 17th.

Speaking to the Sunday Express, a White House aide said: ?It will actually be a double celebration because three days later, January 20, marks the first anniversary of the president taking office. ”

?I would expect that a formal invitation will be made to Miss Boyle in the very near future. The President and First Lady absolutely love her voice and will be delighted if she agrees.?

I wonder if this will really happen, or if this is just one of those rumours… Watch this space and I will always keep you informed
