We know that lots of celebrities adore Susan Boyle. After all, she was first noticed in the US following Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher tweeting to each other about her first audition on Britain’s Got Talent.

Ron, a regular visitor to this site, suggested that I add a “Susan’s Praise” section to the site, where I could list quotes of what celebrities and other well known people have said about Susan. I thought Ron’s suggestion was a great idea. However, I do need your help to find everything nice that a celeb has said about Susan. So, if you know something that a celebrity said and I haven’t listed it, please feel free to let me know (with a link to the source of your information), and I will add it here.

Lady Gaga said:

I love Susan Boyle. She is my woman of the year. She has achieved more in this year than most artists will in a lifetime. Our styles are so different. I don’t know if we could work together, but never say never. It would be great to work with somebody of that talent.

Andrea Bocelli said:

I must sing with this amazing woman.

Snoop Dogg said:

The way she did her thing, ain’t nobody doing it like her.

Donny Osmond spoke to The Insider about Susan. He said:

I consider it an honor that Susan used my songs to learn how to sing. Her success story is one that touches each one of us to be great against all odds.

Elaine Paige said of Susan:

It was great fun working with her. She’s so lovely, kind and sweet, and has a great voice. It must be a blast for her travelling the world making personal appearances, doing interviews, photo sessions, the whole bit, which of course leaves little time to learn new material. But when we filmed the duet for the programme, a new song for her, she was word perfect and spot on!

Patti Lupone, an American Broadway star, said:

Susan … has so much courage, and such
pluck, really.

Rachel York, another American Broadway star, said:

Her pitch was right on, her quality was clear and she had volume when she belted. I was actually amazed listening to ‘Cry Me a River’ – she has a really nice sultry sound.

Joan Lader, a New York-based vocal teacher who has worked with Madonna, said that Susan’s voice was:

very free, unaffected and pure, with lots of clarity and range. A piece like ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ climbs, and she hit the mark. People have very specific expectations when they hear that song. She met them.

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber said:

She is a terrific sport and she’s a great fan of my shows. If she wanted to be in one, well it could happen. It would have to be the right role. Maybe I know what it could be, but I’m not telling. She’s got a great future.

Sir Cameron Mackintosh, a British theatrical producer, said:

Just like the judges and audience I was gob-smacked by the emotional powerhouse performance of Susan Boyle’s show stopping rendition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream.’ Vocally it is one of the best versions of the song I’ve ever heard. Touching, thrilling and uplifting. I do hope she gets to sing it for the Queen.

Barbra Streisand described Susan’s voice as:

like a poet singing.
