Susan Boyle’s Hollywood Makeover
A delight here for all Susan Boyle fans, Susan Boyle’s Hollywood Makeover for Harper’s Bazaar Magazine can now be viewed online. Here is a Harper’s Bazaar video of the makeover taking place:
The photo shoot, which is available in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine (I can hear your little footsteps rushing out to get your copy right now!) is called:”Susan Boyle: Unsung Hero.”
Susan looks the nicest I’ve ever seen her look, and she said herself the designer gowns that she wore made her “feel like a movie star”.
“It really made me feel like a Hollywood actress. Had my hair done up,” she added.
When asked how she was feeling about her rise to fame, Susan told Harper’s Bazaar: “It does feel unreal. It will take a bit of adjusting to because I’ve led a sheltered life, I know. I’ve got life experience, but mentally I have to adjust. But it’s all good. All good.”
When asked if she did the right thing auditioning for the show, she says: “Come on! It goes without saying. Come on now!”
Laura Brown, the special projects editor for Harper’s Bazaar, spoke to NBC’s Today Show. She said: “The idea behind the shoot was a very, very simple one.
“It was to take gorgeous, glamorous and sensitive portraits of her. This was her first magazine photo shoot, so you can’t do too much too soon.
“What we did was give her a little bit of a haircut, and a little bit of a curl.. actually the shape of her hair is great.. so we just tidied it up a little bit and paired it with some natural makeup, and she looked great.’
You can see the video of Laura Brown’s NBC interview here:
The photo shoot took place in Cliveden, a luxurious Italianate mansion, which was once home to Waldorf Astor and his bride, Nancy Langhorne, and is now a hotel just outside London.
Susan reveals that when she sang “I Dreamed a Dream”, she wasn’t dreaming about becoming a singer. She was thinking about the place she found herself in after her 91 year old mother whom she lived with passed away in 2007.
“I did the audition for her because she always wanted me to make something of my life, but I had to wait a bit because her death prevented me from singing for a while. I couldn’t put my heart into it. So I was singing about wanting things to be like they were before she went. You know, it was a double-edged sword because it was about what I wanted to do, but it was also about wanting to turn back to when she was with me. Powerful stuff.”

Reading the article along with the beautiful photo of Susan was very touching. When I think of how sad Susan must have been when her Mother died it makes me want to be with my Mom more. On the bright side, Susan has an opportunity that no one else in the entire world has ever had. How wonderful for her. She deserves this so much.
Thank you for posting this Video.
Susan, you look great!!
I am so happy for Susan at this opportunity for the makeover… what fun she is obviously having!
I can’t WAIT for the magazine to hit the store shelves… in fact I have already been searching for it even though I know it is supposed to come out on the 18th (but in the past I have found some mags earlier than their predicted date). It is funny that her fans did not recognize her… AND such a typical part of her fun personality that she found this hilarious.
wow love the photo shoot susan so thrilled that you are enjoying it all still waiting for that cd hope it continues for as long as you want it to.
WOOOOOOO!!!!! I CAN NOT BELIVE IS SUSAN!!! GREAT!!! SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
