Susan Boyle turns down LA move

Susan Boyle has turned down a move to Los Angeles to live with the rich and the famous, according to an article in today’s Sunday Express.
According to the article, Susan’s main reason for turning down the move is that she does not want to uproot her pet cat, Pebbles.
Executives at Sony Music offered Susan the opportunity to live in a £10 million rented mansion in a secure and exclusive California community after the most recent break in at her council home in Blackburn, West Lothian. However, Susan is worried that a move would upset Pebbles, saying: “Pebbles doesn’t want to move. She’s lived there all her life and cats hate upping sticks”.
A source from Sony was quoted as saying:
“Susan told us she couldn’t possibly be happy without her cat with her, even though we told her we’d fly Pebbles over here too. She seemed terribly sad but said she feared her pet might not survive the flight and, even if it did, might not settle by the ocean.
“She blew us away. We even offered her a housekeeper, assistant and a chauffeur but she stuck to her guns.”
Susan has lived in her ex council house home since she was born.
A friend of Susan’s said: “She is a home-buddy. I couldn’t see her leaving everyone she has here.”
However, not everyone thinks it would be a good idea for Susan to move to LA. Scottish presenter Ross King, who lives in Los Angeles, says she is better off staying where she is. He said: “LA is the toughest of tough towns to live in. There are people here who might try to take advantage of her. I think she would find it very very hard.”

well i think they should let her stay put. their is no reason that they can not build her a new home that is secure. she is the type of person thats went to live a fairly normal life when not proferming. simon needs to see this and try not to pressure her into anything she is not comfortable with,well why don,t they move her to london were pebbels spend all her time anyway.well susan be save for now love your signing and can not wait for a new cd.

I’m also skeptical about this article, Suzanne. Why would Sony even think about uprooting Susan — taking her away, not just from Pebbles (who already lives apart from Susan, in London) but also family and friends — just for the sake of security? There are plenty of other reasonable options to provide increased security that don’t involve a move to the U.S.
Yes, I agree it would make more sense, if Susan were to decide to move, to either move to a more secure residence in Blackburn, or down to London to be close to Pebbles.
Stick to your guns girl! You,Susan, would be the most unhappy of all persons if you were to live in L.A. What would you do Susan, rattling around in such a huge mansion, sounds like it would be just a glorified self imposed prison. Better to find a secure place at home in Scotland, close to family and friends who love you. Then you could sing in your own garden to your hearts content, or wherever. Still waiting for that second CD to be made!

Well sony you are doing the wrong thing trying to move susan to a safer place. Yes she is a superstar but remember she is also a 48 year old women set in her ways.This is were you need to bit the bullet and get thing right for her in blackburn were she is comfortable. If nothing else post cameras . And round the clock security at her home . You need to keep her happy and the only way that is going to be is let her live in Blackburn . Love YOU Susan A Fan FOREVER
No one in their right mind would move to L.A., let alone a sensitive person like Susan, abandoning her country, her town and her friends. What an AWFUL idea. I can’t even imagine the reason for it. She’d be suicidal in a month. They must have security systems in Blackburn or, yes, build her a new house. Liz, NYC
yes sony better realize they are not dealing with some teen star here. They have a 48 year old women who is going to make them a lot of money over the years so they better get with the program and make thing secure for her.You can not tell me they can not provide her with enough security to keep her safe in blackburn . SONY OR WHO EVER IS HANDELING SUSAN GET WITH THE PROGRAM.
This story is not even true. Pebbles has been living in London since last summer. This story came out on 2/7/10. One tabloid wrote about it, then everyone else took the story and ran with it.
