Susan Boyle Official Store Now Open

The Susan Boyle official website have opened an online store selling Susan Boyle merchandise. Linked to the official Susan Boyle website, the store sells items including T-Shirts, hoodies and a shopping bag, emblazoned with phrases such as: “Dreams Come True”, or with a logo displaying the outline of a cat (Pebbles) with the words “Susan Boyle” across the front. The popular press have named the shop the “Subostore”.
I don’t know how you feel about merchandise such as this -? there seems to be a mixed bag of comments on the official site. An American fan said: “Love the Store. I’m buying a T-shirt. I would like a tea cup with Susan on it. Thanks.” Whereas another fan was completely unimpressed, remarking: “This site is solely about making money.” A third lady, from Canada, commented: “I would like to know where the profits from the Susan T. Shirts etc go?”

Why should fans support Susan selling her CD but not making money off merchandise? First of all, many fans want Susan merchandise. 2nd, Susan has said herself that she plans on donating much of the money she’s making to charity. And be assured, with the financial manager Susan has working for her, she’s getting her cut on everything sold. More power to her.
I whole heartedly agree with you, Blondie! Are you and I the only ones who see nothing wrong with dear Susan making a ‘living’ while she’s capturing all our hearts? Lately I’ve felt that her FANS are becoming just a little too pushy! They want this, they want that ~ how about just SUPPORTING her in EVERYTHING she does and sit back and enjoy the journey with her! She happens to be a very intelligent woman, very humble, giving, appreciative, AND INCREDIBLY TALENTED! Why do people always feel the need to CONTROL others? I understand the feelings of wanting to ‘protect’ her, but her fans are beginning to sound very much like all those people in her life who were ‘deciding what she could and could not do!’ Now she’s at last free from all that ~ so let her be! I also think that a great many of her fans should turn some of that so called ‘helpful criticism’(that has taken over the posts)on themselves and try harder to emulate the Susan we all dearly love!

I second the call for backing off and withholding judgment.
Actually, I believe it’s Sony that launched the merchandise site. They’ll reap most of the profits, therefore, while Susan will (we hope) get a cut. The store has been open for a while to US customers, and has just opened to UK customers.
