Susan Boyle buys a new home in Blackburn

Susan Boyle has bought herself a new home in Blackburn, according to a report in today’s Daily Mirror, which features photos of both? the inside and? the outside? of the house, together with views from the house (my, their photographer has been busy!). The house is valued at ?300,000 and has three bedrooms and a double garage. The rear view is lovely and overlooks a river (but don’t worry, there is a steep river bank so the house won’t flood). The house is also set in a private courtyard, which may help to allay security concerns.
Susan’s current home in Blackburn is constantly besieged by fans. However, some of the visitors have been more menacing – Susan has previously had to deal with finding strangers in her garden on Christmas Day, and a teenage intruder inside her home in January.
Susan won’t need a mortgage, because she is due to receive ?4 million pound in royalties for sales of her “I Dreamed a Dream” album, the payment, according to media reports, will arrive around the time of Susan’s birthday on April 1st, when she will be 49.

Not a bad birthday present, that.
I have to say, though, that as I was looking through the photos of this house — including the inside — I felt a bit of an intruder myself! I know we’re all curious, myself included, but I can’t help wondering how I’D feel if people around the world were peeping into my new home.
Is this the only picture of the house would like to see the back also and is she living their all ready. This should not have been pubilished for the same reason she is moving. She need privacy and this is not going to help the matter at all.

Disappointed to see the publication and photos of the purchase of Susan’s new home. She has to leave her lifetime home because people will not allow her the dignity of the privacy of her own place. What will be different now? Does everyone in the world really have to know the exact location of where she is living? Why can’t we leave her have some well deserved peace, quiet and privacy? We who love and respect her want only that she is safe from harm and a quiet place that she can call home, a place away from all the craziness that goes along with being a worldwide star. We don’t need to know ever single little detail of her life, her home or her friends. Let’s give Susan the respect and consideration she so richly deserves. Knowing that she lives somewhere in Scotland is all I need to know! Give her the comfort and support that she needs so that she can keep making more and more CDs for all to enjoy.
You said it so well. We don’t need to know any of this. Susan’s private life needs to be just that; private! Placing the photos and location of her new home on the internet will only expose her again to all those crackpots out there who have already besieged her home. Let’s not put anything like this up again unless we has Susan’s expressed permission to do so.
Yes I agree. And I know that I made a mistake about asking to see pictures of the house. See really deserves to have her personal like free from the public eye. Sorry for making the wrong choice.
MMZ: Amen. Posting just the exterior photos and location is bad enough, but also the interior photos to show the floorplan….
Photos of the rear show (at least for now) laughingly easy access to the home from the river and the far bank. At the very least, I can just imagine some unemployed and enterprising Blackburnians establishing a riverboat tour (or canoe/kayak rental service) to allow fans to gawk at Susan’s home, even after a fence (probably topped with barbed-wire) is put up.
I’m sure this is JUST what Susan imagined when she stepped out on stage for her BGT audition.
